Mr. Green formed Green Environment inc. (GEI) in 1991 after acquiring thirteen years of environmental, health and safety experience at Raychem Corporation, a domestic Fortune 500 company with extensive international operations. Mr. Green managed Raychem's corporate environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene programs, including an internal staff of fifteen professionals and a cadre of environmental, health and safety (EH&S) consultants. Mr. Green was responsible for developing corporate EH&S policies and objectives, managing the development and implementation of corporate EH&S programs, and auditing company EH&S performance based upon regulatory requirements and quality management principles. Mr. Green was a key member of Raychem's international EH&S Committee and conducted environmental audits of company operations in Europe. Mr. Green was the primary corporate EH&S regulatory agency liaison, directly managed extensive site soil/groundwater characterization and remediation projects, and assisted the public relations department officer in community and governmental environmental affairs.

At GEI, Mr. Green has provided consultation services to government, industry, and private parties including progressive EH&S management and regulatory consultation; effective EH&S training; facility environmental permitting; client EH&S management system audits with a focus on quality and client profitability; Phase I/II environmental site assessments for commercial and industrial properties; and project management for remediation of chemically contaminated building surfaces, soils, and groundwater.

Professional Experience

Ms. Ackerman has over 25 years experience in a diversified set of industries and currently focuses on the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors. At GEI, she heads the Permitting and Compliance Solutions Group. Ms. Ackerman has designed and implemented EH&S compliance programs for a variety of clients, tailoring the programs to the needs of the client.

Ms. Ackerman has prepared applications for air emission permits for Bay Area clients, which have been approved without requiring the facilities to install costly pollution abatement equipment. Ms. Ackerman has also prepared numerous applications for permits such as Menlo Park Conditional Use Permits, Hazardous Material Business Plans and Industrial Wastewater Discharges.

Prior to joining GEI, she managed environmental affairs in the Northeast for a $22 billion transportation company. Ms. Ackerman ensured compliance with a wide variety of federal, state, and local regulations in over 50 facilities, while personally managing complex site remediation projects. Compliance issues included industrial stormwater and wastewater discharges, above- and under-ground fuel storage tanks, hazardous waste handling and storage, confined space, machine guarding, and hazard communication.

Professional Experience

Mr. Palmer has over 25 years of environmental consulting experience for industrial, private party, and government clients. He has managed and conducted site assessments, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, treatability studies, corrective measures studies, and remediation projects. At GEI, he serves as Chief Technical Officer with a focus on assessing, investigating, and mitigating soil, soil vapor, and groundwater impacts at sites in Northern California. He works with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies on behalf of GEI's clients to address RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, California Code of Regulations Title 22, and numerous other environmental regulations and ordinances.

Prior to joining GEI, Mr. Palmer worked at AECOM (Oakland, California), Earth Tech (San Jose, California), and Metcalf & Eddy (Palo Alto, California) where he managed environmental projects for many clients, including the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; industrial clients in the oil and gas, electronics manufacturing, and chemical manufacturing sectors; and private landowners. Among highlights of his experience, Mr. Palmer served as project manager for one of the first applications of steam-enhanced remediation of TCE in fractured granitic bedrock, at Edwards Air Force Base, California. Mr. Palmer also managed a comprehensive surface water, soil, and groundwater investigation at a 100-acre oil refinery terminal in Contra Costa County, California. In addition, his experience includes supervising facility decontamination and closure projects in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, California; evaluating former Department of Defense airfields and radar stations in Hawaii; and investigating environmental impacts from fuel releases at Saipan, Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands.

Professional Experience

Mr. Lautenbach is a Civil Engineer with over 30 years of environmental engineering experience, providing technical and project management for an extensive variety of subsurface contamination projects throughout the San Francisco Bay area; with particular emphasis on cost-effective approaches to remediation and mitigation. He has prepared a wide variety of environmental contamination documents, such as work plans, remedial investigation/feasibility studies, corrective action plans, remedial progress and completion reports, vapor intrusion mitigation plans, and site risk management plans for site contaminants such as petroleum fuels and oils, chlorinated solvents, pesticides, heavy metals, PCBs, and polynuclear aromatics.

Excavating experience has included dewatering and large diameter augering. Soil remediation has included vapor extraction, enhanced bioremediation landfarming, and offsite thermal treatment/recycling. Mr. Lautenbach is also versed in vapor intrusion mitigation design using barriers, passive venting and inexpensive fans. His groundwater cleanup project experience has included pump and treat, various sparging approaches, and dual-phase (vapor and groundwater) high-vacuum extraction.

Mr. Lautenbach began his Bay Area career at Terratech, Inc. (acquired by URS Corporation), and managed the environmental department of their San Jose office from 1987 until 2000. Prior to joining GEI, Mr. Lautenbach was providing contract environmental consultant services.

Professional Experience

Mrs. Forker joined GEI in 2011 after working in the Environmental Services division of CH2M HILL, a consulting company with over 20,000 employees worldwide. As a staff geologist at CH2M HILL, Mrs. Forker gained experience in the management of projects related to site investigations and large scale environmental data management, as well as performing field tasks including soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling, and monitoring well installation, maintenance and rehabilitation. Mrs. Forker was also responsible for the preparation of work plans, health and safety plans, and investigation reports for a variety of different projects.

At GEI, Mrs. Forker is a project manager for environmental projects including Phase I and Phase II investigations, groundwater monitoring at several sites, and projects in varying stages of environmental remediation.

Professional Experience

Dr. Studemeister has more than fifteen years of geoscience and project management experience. He has been in responsible charge of over 100 environmental projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. His breadth of experience includes airports, retail service stations, industrial facilities, construction sites, and commercial developments. Dr. Studemeister has successfully interfaced with regulatory agencies to investigate and mitigate releases of hydrocarbons, solvents, and other pollutants to surface, soil, and groundwater environments.

Recent Experience

Environmental Consultant, Stanford Linear Accelerator, Stanford, CA Conducted preliminary site assessments and investigations of multiple sites at SLAC. Performed historical document research, field investigation, and report preparation. Evaluated potential chemical impacts at various sites, developed sampling plans and project budgets, oversaw work performed by outside contractors/consultants, developed work scopes, and conducted water quality and risk assessments.

Groundwater Remediation and Risk Assessment at the ICT Facility, San Jose, CA This multi-year study included groundwater monitoring program, pump-&-treat system monitoring, and evaluation of the effectiveness of groundwater remediation. A risk-based assessment based on the RWQCB Non-Attainment Policy succeeded in RWQCB-approval to discontinue pump-&-treat and implement a long-term monitoring program.

Mr. Tinline has 30 years of geoscience and project management experience; 24 of which as an environmental consultant for industrial, private party, and government clients. He has managed and conducted site assessments, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, corrective measures studies, and remediation projects. For GEI, he brings his extensive experience on assessing, investigating, and mitigating soil, soil vapor, and groundwater impacts at sites in Northern California with a focus on his specialization in soil vapor investigations and vapor intrusion mitigation.

Mr. Tinline continues to provide consultant services to a wide variety of clients through SVC Environmental, Inc. His Bay Area environmental career began at Pacific Environmental Group (acquired by IT Corporation) where he gained vast petroleum and heavy metal investigation and cleanup experience at the Martinez Shell Oil Company Refinery and went on to manage investigations and remedial activities at Shell fuel terminals and gas stations. In 1999, Mr. Tinline became vice president of Toxichem Management Systems, Inc. where he continued to develop and manage environmental quality assessments and remediation projects and through the president and CIH; began his specialization in vapor intrusion investigations and mitigation with a concentration on chlorinated solvents. Mr. Tinline has also had extensive experience characterizing Naturally Occurring Asbestos (NOA) in soil and bedrock in support of excavation/earth work activities in addition to air monitoring for compliance and worker safety.
